I plan to go to Canadian Rocky and Alaska by car (or bus) this summer, so your trip is very attractive to me. 回答:對不起, 這個行程是健行+露營 (backpacking) Currently I can hike 4 hours pretty easily and 8 hours with difficulty. 回答: 這個不是問題 BTW, When I travel alone, I prefer sleep in the car on the campsite instead. 回答: 你是學姐吧, 或許可以share tent with someone, 這個行程either car camp, or backpacking camp If you think I can join you, please let me know your phone number so we can discuss further.

Thing to bring with you for self-sufficiency •A day pack to hold all of your stuff. •Proper clothing (including rain gear) for fickle mountain weather. Layers work best. •Proper footwear. •Plenty of water in a water bottle. Bottled water, and drinking water in general, is not available at all of our shuttle stops. See what shuttle stops access drinking water. •Enough snacks or lunches for a whole day. Staying nourished with food and hydrated with water throughout the day will help keep you safe and feeling strong. •The Waterton-Glacier Guide newspaper for easy on-the-spot information. •Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses - avoid sunburns and heat illness. •Bear spray. •Camera.

Currently I can hike 4 hours pretty easily and 8 hours with difficulty. I don't hike as fast as our seasoned club members either. Wonder whether I can still tack along and stop/return as we go. BTW, When I travel alone, I prefer sleep in the car on the campsite instead. I have no problem carrying a day pack, but have no experience with overniter's. If you think I can join you, please let me know your phone number so we can discuss further. I'm in Taiwan now and will leave for the States in early May. Shiang

Day 1 (6/29/2011): Arrive Great Fall, Montana •My flight leaving SFO at 5:34 p.m., arriveing GTF at 11:56 p.m. •Meeting either 12 p.m. at San Francisco or 6/30 12 a.m. at Great Fall International airport •Rent a big van for 8-10 people •Great Falls, Montana, is a historic city with the flavor of the Old West, only 2 hours and 12 minutes from Glacier National Park Day 2 & 3 & 4 (6/30 – 7/2): Glacier National Park(east entrance,Two Medicine) Shopping the food, propane and bear spray Two Medicine Valley, is an area rich in Native American history. Because Glacier’s showy scenery comes without the serious oxygen deprivation that plagues hikers in higher parks, you can top three passes in a hike without killing yourself. The two-day, 19-mile Dawson Pass loop features two scenic passes (Dawson Pass & Pitamakin Pass) and a stretch of alpine trail that’s outstanding even by Glacier’s standards. Start today at Two Medicine Campground and plan to camp at Upper Two Medicine Lake or No Name Lake. A short, steep climb to Dawson Pass puts you at the start of one of the finest sky walks anywhere. For three miles between Dawson Pass and Mount Morgan, the trail follows a narrow ridge. “Nothing but peak upon peak—you’re on top of the world,” says Dick Honrath, who has spent 25 summers hiking every trail in the park. The homestretch back to Two Medicine follows the Continental Divide Trail. We will keep our eyes peeled for the spectacular array of wildlife that is frequently seen here. Moose, elk, and deer graze on tall green grasses and wildflowers in sunny meadows, while grizzlies, black bears, coyotes, wolves, and mountain lions seek refuge from the summer heat in shady aspen groves. We may also spot majestic bald eagles. Day 5 (7/3) : Siyeh Pass & Sunrift Gorge Hit the Going-to-the-Sun Road by 7 a.m., park at Siyeh Bend. There, take off on an 11-mile day hike through Preston Park’s blooming meadows. The rocky, windblown pass into Sunrift Gorge is one of the highest sections of trail in the park. Down in the gorge, waterfalls spill from Sexton Glacier, high on Matahpi Peak. Finish by walking one mile along Saint Mary Lake to the shuttle-bus stop at Sun Point for a lift back to our car. Pop your tent at Rising Sun Campground. Going-to-the-Sun Mountain 9642ft; Mount Siyeh 10014ft; Days 6 & 7 (7/4- 7/5): Logan Pass to Many Glacier via Garden Wall & Swiftcurrent trails Camp at Granite Park Best lookout in the park: Swiftcurrent Pass Day 8 (7/6): Going-to-the-Sun Road Logan Pass to Hidden Lake Lake McDonald Huckleberry Mtn 6593ft Camp at Sprague Creek Day 9 (7/7): Many Glacier Grinnell Glacier Camp at Many Glacier Day 10 & 11 & 12 (7/8 - 7/10): Waterton Park Day 13 (7/11): go home leaving 5 p.m. from GTF

Glacier National Park is located in the U.S. state of Montana, bordering the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. The park encompasses over 1,000,000 acres (4,000 km2) and includes parts of two mountain ranges (sub-ranges of the Rocky Mountains), over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants and hundreds of species of animals. This vast pristine ecosystem is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem", a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles. The mountains of Glacier National Park began forming 170 million years ago when ancient rocks were forced eastward up and over much younger rock strata. Known as the Lewis Overthrust, these sedimentary rocks are considered to have some of the finest fossilized examples of extremely early life found anywhere on Earth. The current shapes of the Lewis and Livingston mountain ranges and positioning and size of the lakes show the telltale evidence of massive glacial action, which carved U-shaped valleys and left behind moraines which impounded water creating lakes. Of the estimated 150 glaciers which existed in the park in the mid-19th century, only 25 active glaciers remained by 2010. Scientists studying the glaciers in the park have estimated that all the glaciers may disappear by 2030 if the current climate patterns persist.
