Hi, Jen Hsien et. al, It appeared that Louisiana people are attracted to hurricanes. We were chased out by hurricane Katrina and seeked harbor in Houston. And here it came again, Rita took aim at us in Houston. Houston has been very kind to us the Louisiana refugees, especially, our old frineds here. We took sheltered in Ah Y and Wei Ming's home and were very well entertained with all the warm receivings anyone could ever asked for. We met up with all the old moutain people here and were taken out for dinners every night. We made up more than our body weight lost due to lack of hot meals while enduring through the Katrina ordeals. Later, Red Cross offered a hotel room for me and I moved to the NW corner of Houston to be close by of my work place, before hurricane Rita struck. (I had to travel about one hour from Ah Y's house each trip). And here the hosts themselves were being threatened by the hurricane. Luckily, Rita only scraped us by and struck the border of Louisiana and spared most of the Texas cites. Houston suffered minor damages. Even Galveston did not suffer much of the damages as predicted. Here it is only at the mid-point of the hurricane season. But I hope there will be no more of these devil storms. We are more than lucky to have friends like you people who are so concerned about our welfare. Thank you.
