李昆明退休了！

My Friends, it is that time again. 2004 is a good year, the stock market is up. Although not by much, it is still better than what it happened in 2000—2002. With the stock up in two consecutive years(hopefully for year 2004), we could afford the luxury of retirement. Eric officially retired on Dec 4, 2004 from Gilbarco—a company he has been working for in the last 30 years. This is a year we see some significant changes. Eric finally completed his assignment in China and retired on Dec. 4. He has been very active in mountain life again. In April, Eric made a trip to the base camp to view the mount Everest and in Oct, he took a trip to hike around some mountains in LiangShan county in SiChuan. He reached about 4,800 meters in that particular trip. He also achieved one of his life goals to complete a Marathon run. Although he was disappointed with the time he took, he was very happy that he finished one. Now he could think about improvement on his next try. Chia Ni continues to be a domestic engineer and she is not considering retirement yet. With Eric’s retirement, perhaps she could go into semi-retirement. Tennis and traveling take up most of her spare time. Fortunately, her Mom lives in Dallas and is still in very good health. Chia Ni is busy planning for our first two post-retirement trips—the first one to visit Egypt in December and the second one to visit Taiwan in Jan/Feb.
