中秋賞月又賞葉

週五晚上啟程，二車七人到太浩湖南岸的落葉營地（Fallen Leaf Campground）。安營紮寨完畢，已是半夜。皎月當空，於是取酒淺酌、對月閑聊後安睡。週六、日兩天遍遊太浩湖南北秋色，詳見「灣區之龍」網頁http://www.bayareadragon.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=7165 [轉載]︰ This trip found with luck great foliage and right timing. Highlights with my rating are:（參見附圖2） Sat: 1. North shore of Fallen Leaf Lake near the dam **** (small aspen grove but great with lake view and reflection) 2. Hwy 89 near Luther Pass ** (some red) 3. Hwy 88 east at Sorensens Resort **** (dense aspen and foliage) 4. Hwy 88 west by Red Lake Creek, before Carson Pass **** (great backdrop of mountain) 5. Hwy 88 west, Hope Valley *** (peaceful ranch and cattle grazing) Sun: 6. Spring Creek, Hwy 89 by south shore of Tahoe ** (small) 7. Hwy 28 near Burton Creek ***** (tall and dense aspen grove, BEST OF THE TRIP) 8. Hwy 267 by Middle Martis Creek, west of Brockway Summit ** (a bit dry) Note: #7 Burton Creek happened to be spotted by Kman at left side of Hwy 28, about ~2 mi north of Tahoe City before the "Star Harbor" sign at right. We met a local who's been photographing foliage for 3 years and said this is the BEST. He also recommended Blackwood Canyon from Hwy 89 about 3 mi south of Tahoe City and another site near Reno, which we didn't have time to expore.
