灣區五岳 "5 Sacred Mountains of Bay Area"

We are planning a mtn-biking trip to Wine Country. One of target is Mt. St. Helena. See http://www.bayareadragon.com/bbs/group_viewtopic.php?t=2623 It's the Northern Sacred Mtn among the 5. Here's my posting explaining it: -------- Chinese tradition is to name 5 sacred mountains in 4 directions plus the center. They are 東岳泰山, 南岳衡山, 西岳華山, 北岳恆山, 中岳嵩山. Novelist Jin Yong set up 5 swordsmanship schools, 1 on each mountain :D In Bay Area, I select the following 5 sacred mountains as 灣區五岳 and arrange them in order of elevation in below: * 南岳﹕漢密爾頓山 Mt. Hamilton, 4373' (1333m) * 北岳﹕聖海倫娜山 Mt. St. Helena, 4343' (1324m) * 東岳﹕魔鬼山 Mt. Diablo, 3849' (1173m) * 西岳﹕塔馬派山 Mt. Tamalpais, 2571' (784m) * 中岳﹕聖布魯諾山 San Bruno Mtn, 1314' (400m) The highest point in Mt. Hamilton is actually Copernicus Peak. Mt. St. Helena is in the north. If you are lucky to be on a clear day, you can see Mt. Shasta in north, Sierra in west and other sacred mountains in south. P.S. For those who are familiar not with mountains in Taiwan, mountaineers there name the following 5 sacred mountains as 台灣五岳：玉山、雪山、秀姑巒山、南湖大山、大武山.
