The following is my itinerary for your reference, in case you have interest to go there in the future.
12/14/2006: Leave SFO for JRO(Kilimanjaro, Tanzania), stop by Amsterdam, Netherland.
12/15/2006: Arrive Kilimanjaro
Arrive Kilimanjaro airport, transfer to Arusha.
12/16/2006: Arusha National Park
Visit Arusha National Park. The park is famous for its birdlife. Have a game drive, and hiking in the park enabling us to get used to Tanzania climate and get over jet lag before the climb.
12/17/2006: Hit the mountain to Machame gate, after registration process start the hike to Machame Camp, 9,900ft, 4 hours.
12/18/2006: Shira Camp, 12,600ft, 4 hours.
12/19/2006: Lava Tower, Baranco Camp, 12,950ft, 5 hours.
12/20/2006: Barafu Camp, 14,910ft, 5 hours.
12/21/2006: Summit, 19,340ft, 6 hours, then back to Barafu Camp, 3 hours. Descend to Mweka Camp, 10,010ft 3 hours.
12/22/2006: Mweka gate, 5423 ft, 2 hours, transfer to Arusha (1hr).
12/23/2006: Lake Manyara
Visit Lake Manyara National Park in the Great Rift Valley. The park is home to tree-climbing lion, colorful birds, elephant and hippo.
12/24/2006: Serengeti
Today we drive to Serengeti National Park, game drives in Serengeti with a chance to see leopard, hyena, gazelle, lion, ostrich, giraffe, buffalo and many more animals. Camping in Pimbi Camp. Christmas Eve.
12/25-27/2006: Serengeti
More games in Serengeti, in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed. Drive to hippo pool in the Grumeti River, and Lobo Wildlife Lodge in the northern area of Serengeti.
12/28/2006: Ngorongoro
Moring safari to see cheetah, one of endangered animal. We leave Serengeti for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Camping in Simba A Camp.
12/29/2006: Ngorongoro / Arusha
Visit Olduvai Gorge for this history-changing archaeological site made famous by the Leakey family. Our ancestors lived here 3.6 million years ago.
Descend into Ngorongoro crater for another game drive in the crater exploring the short-grass plains of the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many more games, then drive to Arusha.
12/30/2006: Culture tour to Osotwa village and visit Sambu Maasai market.
12/31/2006: Arusha city tour, fly home, count down on the airplane.
1/1/2007: Stop by Amsterdam, Netherland. Arrive SFO at night.
