Did you know that over 35 Hollywood films were set in Glacier National Park?
Did you know there are only 6 peaks over 10,000 feet high in Glacier - Cleveland, Stimpson, Kintla, Jackson, Siyeh, and Merritt.
What will we do?
(1) Take a backpacking trip deep within Glacier's wild interior.
(2) Hike through forests and up mountains on over 700 miles of hiking trails. The best scenic hikes in Glacier are generally the ones that take you the highest. And for that then there are no better starting points then Logan Pass & Many Glacier. A couple of trails even connect the two areas allowing you to hike back and forth.

(6)Tour the Going-to-the-Sun Road in a Red Bus or learn all about the Blackfeet Indian culture in comfortable motor coaches.

這是John Miur Trail 行前訓練之一.
注意事項:
(1) By mid-June, the trails are usually dried out enough to hike in the lower elevations. In the higher elevations, trails are not normally free of snow until late July. You may be aware of the need to cross streams of very cold water, so bring extra dry clothing to change into and do not attempt to cross steep snow banks.
(2)I am going to mail out the Permits request
(3)Trout Lake Trail - West Lakes Trailhead to the Camas Creek Junction is posted for grizzly bear and/or mountain lion activity. Extra caution is advised.
(4)The Going-to-the-Sun Road is open to vehicle traffic from West Glacier to the Loop. Past the Loop the road is open to hiking and biking to a point about two miles beyond Bird Woman Falls Overlook. Both black and grizzly bears have been spotted recently. People are reminded that, as always in bear country, be alert to the potential of bears on or near the road. On the east side of the park the Going-to-the-Sun Road is open to vehicle traffic to Jackson Glacier Overlook. Hikers and bikers may continue up the road about another three miles.
(5) Bears and Pepper Spray
An increasing number of backcountry hikers carry pepper spray as a possible deterrent against aggressive bears.

this is wenchi. I'm interested to take my family (wife & 2 daughters (13&16)) to the trip. I'd like to know more about this trip. For example, our itineary, how do we meet and transportation etc.

The park encompasses over 1,000,000 acres (4,000 km2) and includes parts of two mountain ranges (sub-ranges of the Rocky Mountains), over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants and hundreds of species of animals. This vast pristine ecosystem is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem", a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles.
The mountains of Glacier National Park began forming 170 million years ago when ancient rocks were forced eastward up and over much younger rock strata. Known as the Lewis Overthrust, these sedimentary rocks are considered to have some of the finest fossilized examples of extremely early life found anywhere on Earth. The current shapes of the Lewis and Livingston mountain ranges and positioning and size of the lakes show the telltale evidence of massive glacial action, which carved U-shaped valleys and left behind moraines which impounded water creating lakes. Of the estimated 150 glaciers which existed in the park in the mid-19th century, only 25 active glaciers remained by 2010. Scientists studying the glaciers in the park have estimated that all the glaciers may disappear by 2030 if the current climate patterns persist.
